Where have we been? Well...

We went camping in July for the first time in 9 years. We camped at a KOA in Canandaigua NY, near Rochester. It was excruciatingly HOT, with 100% humidity. At night there was no relief with temps dropping to a sweaty 80 degrees! Add to that the daily thunderstorms right around dinner time, and let's just say it couldn't have been much worse circumstances than those. Believe it or not, though, we had a good time in spite of all that! We even decided to try it again in August.

After our few days of camping we headed to Niagara Falls for a few hours. We took a ride to the base of the falls on the Maid of the Mist. The spray from the falls was very refreshing since it was still in the mid-nineties!

We also visited Upper Canada Village further east in Morrisburg, Ontario. We spent the rest of our vacation in St. Bruno at Grandma and Grandpa's house. While there, Grandpa rented a small Sessna and took Caleigh and Jacob for a plane ride over Montreal and St. Bruno. They really enjoyed that!

We also took a day-trip to Ottawa to the Museum of Science and Technology where the kids got to try out lots of hands-on displays. The best parts were the "Crazy Kitchen", the HUGE steam locomotives (Jacob's favorite), and the ski-doo simulator ride.

We came home for a couple of weeks and celebrated Paige's 3rd birthday.

We then headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's for another week at the beginning of August. This trip was pretty uneventful, just hung out at the house.

The weekend before Labor Day we went camping for the second time with some friends in Newburgh, NY. A good time was had by all. Except for when our friends had a bout with the dreaded stomach bug! Luckily, we escaped the germ. We decided we should make it an annual trip ( minus the stomach virus).

Then came the First Day of School!! I love that day! Jacob entered Kindergarten and Caleigh entered 3rd grade. Jacob was up and ready for school with shoes and backpack on by 6:00am! Do you think he was excited? Just a little!

So that's where we've been and what we've been up to. Now we're back into the daily grind of school again. Next week Paige will be starting Preschool. Hopefully that will go well!
