July - Trip to Connecticut!!

We were missing our family and friends up north so decided...ROADTRIP!! Yep, that's right. We drove. To Connecticut. It could have been horrible, but it actually wasn't. We left home at 5pm and drove through the night until around 1pm the next afternoon, then stopped overnight in a hotel and finished the drive the next day. The worst part of the drive was the last 8 hours on the second day. We were bombarded with the usual "are we almost there?" and "when are we going to be out of _____(fill in the state)?" questions multiplied by 3!

We also booked our hotels through Priceline. We had heard how the savings could be substantial, so we figured we'd give it a shot. We ended up staying at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich for $52/night. Even better than that though, when we got there we were told that their regular rooms couldn't accomodate 5 people, so we were upgraded to a deluxe room at no charge! It was a wonderful hotel!

We had our wedding pictures taken here 15 years ago.

Our first day there, we had lunch with Grandma Jo and Kevin at their boat club. Before lunch we went down to their boat for a few minutes.

The next day we were able to celebrate Paige's 7th birthday with family! She was excited to have everyone sing Happy Birthday to her. We actually left home on our trip on her actual birthday, so she got to spend her birthday sitting in a car for hours. Fun.

Grandma Jo & Kevin took us to the Maritime Aquarium while we were there.

We saw lots of strange sea creatures as you can see here.

...and here

...and here

...and, finally, here.

We also saw some of the more normal sea creatures too.

Touching stingrays.

This is Phil, the world's shyest penguin.
