An expensive way to kill a couple of hours between ballgames

For the entire month of June our weekends have been all about baseball. Well, right at the end of Jacob's first game of the first weekend, Paige fell off the monkey bars at the playground next to the ball field and landed flat on her back. She cried and cried and cried, and kept saying that her back and stomach hurt. After she refused a snack and drink from the team mom, we figured something was really wrong, so with scary thoughts of ruptured spleens or worse running through my head, off we went to the nearest ER. As with all ER's there's always a wait involved. As we were sitting in the waiting room, waiting to be brought into the back to be seen, Paige was starting to perk up. When the doctor finally looked at her and was touching her back and belly and asking if anything hurt, she replied "no". After an X-ray and a urinalysis (to make sure she didn't damage her kidneys) we were sent on our merry way. We were relieved that everything was ok, but couldn't help thinking that for the $100 copay we'd just paid, something should have hurt even just a little! Is that mean? Yep, but I know it hurt me a little when I realized we'd gone there for nothing a $100 later!

Here she is, waiting to be discharged after being told everything's fine. Faking it for the camera.
